Scented Oil

Scented oil is what goes in diffusers to create a wonderful scent for your home. There are many types of scented oil to choose from, and the one you choose for your room depends on the mood you want to create. You can use an oil diffuser that has an open flame and burns the oils, or a candle-like burner that has a wick you have to light.

There are many online fragrance and perfume shops that sell wholesale fragrance oil and discount diffusers. You can often save up to 70% less than you would pay in a retail store. Scented oil is an inexpensive way to give your home atmosphere and help eliminate odors from pets or food smells. You'll find your favorite popular designer fragrances in many of the scented oils available today.

A number of well known stores and fragrance manufacturers produce high quality scented oil. Crabtree and Evelyn, a well know bath and body store, stocks a lot of essential oils like lavender as well as synthetic oils like Summer Hill.

Scented oils can also be used as fragrance, if you find one that is specially made for body and home use. All it takes is a dab of mandarin or green tea to give you a long lasting scent. Scented oil is often stronger smelling than eau de toilette or cologne, so use it sparingly. One or two drops is all you'll need for your entire body, and more than that may be overpowering.

Essential Scented Oils

Essential scented oils are made from pressed plants, and give off a stronger scent. Essential oils come in a variety of scents, from amber to sage. If you want a musky, spicy scent, patchouli is ideal for an oil burner in your home. However, if you want a lighter scent, opt for vanilla to make your kitchen or living room smell fresh and clean. Some essential oils such as patchouli can even help with depression and asthma symptoms.

If you're serious about buying all natural essential oils, check the label to make sure that they aren't mixed with chemicals. If the essential oil is called a 'perfume' or 'fragrance' there's a good chance that it contains synthetic materials.

Scented Oil Precautions

When you're using an oil diffuser to burn scented oils, you must take certain precautions. There have been cases where people leave their oil lamps on accidentally, and they cause a fire. You must also keep oil diffusers away from fabrics and other flammable materials.
